Finance Manager Portfolio Monitoring

Mpho has joined the Zebu portfolio value creation team, to oversee and monitor portfolio financial management activities. She has acquired more than ten years of financial management experience gained in the FMCG, development finance and the commercial banking sectors. Her early careers days saw her being promoted in various finance roles while working for Barclays Africa/Absa. Mpho has also worked with the Financial Institutions Group – Africa Advisory team at IFC / The world bank group on donor funded projects, as well as served the South African Breweries as finance executive overseeing agriculture development finance projects across Africa.

She holds a CIMA accredited postgraduate degree in Management Accounting from Unisa, and a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of the Witwatersrand. Currently she is studying towards an MBA (Corporate Governance and Strategic Risk Management) with Edinburgh Business School (UK), and she is a professional member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants(CIMA) and the project management institute.

She currently voluntarily seats on boards of NGOs and has served the board of the South African Barley Breeding Institute, as a company secretary and a chairperson of the finance and audit subcommittees. Mpho is passionate about education and empowering young entrepreneurs and believes this could greatly contribute to poverty alleviation and create jobs across Africa.
